I have fourteen days to share with your my beauty favorites. Each day I will share with you a new product that is my ride or die, holy grail beauty products. Below I have added a photo of the items to look forward to. Keep on the lookout for these posts! Let me know what other challenges you would like me to do!
When I got home last Monday, I came home to a package in my mailbox. I was a little confused because I didn’t get an email or anything about receiving a ox box, but that’s okay. So I received the I Do Vox Box. In it contained 6 new products to test out and review. I do need to disclose to you that I received these products complementary for testing purposes from Influenster. So in other words, I got these for free as beta tester and I am now reviewing them for you!
Skinny Girl Tasty Nutrition Bars $4.99 Each
This wasn’t so bad, I wasn’t a fan of the flavor and I don’t really know that I would purchase this. There are better protein bars out there. I like some of the other things from this brand, just not this item.
URGENTRx Ache & Pain Relief $1.39
I actually haven’t used this yet. It is in my purse as an in case of emergency situation. I need to look at the ingredients before I decide to actually use it.
Sahale Snacks Grab & Go $27.46 for 18 pouches
These little gems here were a total surprise. I got the flavor Cashews with pomegranate and vanilla, and OMG! I have to admit I was really hesitant to try them but I am so glad I did. I will have to look into the other flavors because they were amazing!
Indeed Labs nanoblur $19.99
This is an interesting product. I am not actually sure what it is supposed to do, I guess its meant to blur fine lines and wrinkles and pores. I don’t really have those issues as of yet, but I am trying it out. I like the consistency of it, it feels really good on the skin, and I don’t break out from it, so that’s a plus.
Cover Girl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation $11.30
This foundation is beautiful. I don’t really go for the luminous formulas, I guess I have always gone for a natural finish in the foundations that I purchase. So this is a first for me and I really like it. I am in the shade 825, and it was really surprising that I actually got a matching shade,, I don’t usually get that in boxes like this. It is medium to full coverage, and is buildable to a point. I really like this one. I don’t really get too shiny, it just gives you a healthy glow. I love it.
Cover Girl Outlast Lipstick 910 $9.80
This isn’t a color that I would normally pick out for myself, but it is really pretty all the same. It has a glossy finish and is really moisturizing. I really have to sheer it out when I wear it, I am a gloss kind of girl, just a wash of color and I am good to go. The color payoff is amazing.
Neutrogena Hand Cream $3.99
Not sure how I feel about this lotion. It has a silicone feel, and I don’t really feel like it moisturizes. I will continue to use it, and report back. Its just a really strange formula. It doesn’t have a scent, which is good, since typically lotions that are scented are sometime over powering.
I am so sorry for not posting for a while. Work has been a little insane over the last several weeks. Let me clue you in a bit.
When I started planning for camp, my goal was to have 50 children enrolled, as of Monday, I have 84 enrolled. We have outgrown our space at the YMCA, so we have rented a building within walking distance for our base for the camp to use. It has been an uphill battle, with the building let me tell you , hopefully, we will have it all taken care of soon. The weather has not been forgiving at all here lately. This has seriously been the wettest summer I have ever seen, in fact my supervisor told me the other day that she felt like we were living in Seattle.
The kids are having so much fun. I couldn’t be happier with the way things are working out. We have also merged with my other YMCA, so that is great news.
I have been a little careless with my spending here as of lately, but that is because there are so many new things that I want to buy and test and review for your all. I have several things that I am testing as of right now, so look forward to that. I will try to get back at writing.
I am really trying to get into a schedule, I am trying my best. I have just been so tired when I come home from work, no matter what time of day I get off.
My life is turning around, and I am excited about that! More to come on that! I want to see how things unfold before I tell the world.
So this is my update for now, I will see you all next week…
Today was just awesome! Today my campers went to the Annual Association Field Day at one of our branches.
This was our second field trip, and overall things turned out pretty great. The Association Field Day is where all of the Camps that are apart of our association gather together in one location to be together, be loud and proud and to play games together. Today there were five of our branches in attendance. We had a total of about 40 kids today. We were small, but we were mighty.
I was kind of concerned about the weather, and another canceled trip, but they decided to go ahead. When we got to our destination, we were a little lost, none of us had been to one of these before. They started this several years, after I stopped working as a counselor at my other YMCA. I met up with another camp director, and she was trying to get some answers as to where we should go. After getting some answers, I took my kids to the port a potties for a bathroom break and to the gym to await the other camps to show up to start. The weather wasn’t very cooperative at first, it wasn’t raining, it was misting, but it was enough to drive us inside.
We finally got things started and completed our opening ceremony and were off for lunch before games. We were asked to plan a water game and a dry game to teach to the other camps as they rotated between stations, but that didn’t work out. They decided that we weren’t going to do the water games, and that we would just fall in line with another camp and follow them. There didn’t end up being a rotation, but we made do.
We played many a game with our campers and some of the other camps decided to join in our fun. We played Bob the Weasel and it was so catchy that as I was doing my rounds between my groups I saw that other groups were playing as well. We sang several camp songs and yelled numerous chants. By 1:00 the sun was starting to peak through and the humidity began to rise and my campers got really tired and restless so I decided that we were going to play the games that I had planned to teach, which were some of our favorite games. We started out with the leaky cup challenge.
You split your group up into two teams. You need two cups with holes in them and four buckets, two filled with water. Your teams use the cups and fill them with water race to the other end of the boundary and put the remainder of the water in the empty bucket. The team that fills the bucket up first wins, or in our case gets to dump the bucket of water on a counselor. Our kids had so much fun that other camps wanted to join in.
We finished up around 2 and started heading to the bathrooms for our final bathroom break before hitting the bus and to hydrate after running around like crazy. We took a giant all association picture. And then we were told that we had to stay for closing ceremony. So we gathered our campers up in the field behind the YMCA that we were at and waited. They were getting restless again so we sang some more songs and yelled some more chants until the event coordinator came out to close out the day. He took his spirit stick and played a chanting game with each branch, the higher the stick was in the air the louder we were to get, the lower to the ground the quieter we needed to be. He thanked everyone for their participation and tallied up all of the points. Then he said that there was one branch that showed great sportsmanship, were really excited and pumped up, good listeners, well-behaved and embodied the Four Core Values of the YMCA. Can you guess who? Before I tell you who, I want to explain what this all means.
Each year the Spirit Stick is awarded to Y Camp that meets the criteria listed above. Since starting this, one branch almost always wins. When you are awarded the Spirit Stick, you get to take it with you for the rest of summer, and bring it back next season for the next Association Field Day. You also get to make your mark on it, and receive bragging rights among the association.
So if you guess my camp, your right! Not only was it our first time attending the Field Day but it is also our first outing after becoming apart of the association! I am so proud of my campers. They were so excited. None of them thought that they would get it. So this weekend, I will be purchasing a Kelly green spoon of ribbon and a white or silver paint marker and making our mark on the Spirit Stick. By the end of the day myself and some of the other counselors had a little bit of a sunburn on our faces, but when most of the day if over cast you don’t really think about using sun screen….o well…
I am so proud of my campers. They behaved very well today, the listened every time. They were amazing. Today was an amazing day!
Sorry I am so late on this. Here lately I get home and all I want to do is sleep, I am so tired all the time. But camp keeps me busy.
Today I have for you the June Ipsy Glam bag. This month is all about summer beauty and swimming! YAY! Below is what I received in my bag.

Lavanilla Laboratories The healthy body butter in Pure Vanilla- Sample Size

Overall I was extremely pleased with my bag this month. I am getting a lot of use out of all of these products. I am loving the primer from smashbox, I am obsessed with the eyeliner, and the body butter. I could do without the lip stain, its just not my color, and the shadow crayon is a great base.
This isn’t what I had planned to share with you but after watching this I fell the need to share this with you.
Ingrid Nilsen is one of the most inspiring people to me. We all know that I am a youtube junkie. I look forward to each and everyone of her videos. She is the most beautiful, inspiring and most well put together person I know. She has been in inspiration for many of the things that I have accomplished in my life this far.
Yesterday she posted this video.
I had no idea what it was about. I saw that she had posted a video and I clicked on it to watch. Before I get into this, I must tell you that most of my friends are gay, in one way or another. No gay happy, but Gay LGBT. Being around people that are gay does not bother me on bit.
I had no idea, until her video. I am so happy for her that she is finally out. I could see the stress she has been under build up over the past several years and when she finally just said it yesterday, I could see the stress falling off. It is never easy to tell people something that intimate about you. I went through something similar. We all go through phases. I dated a girl in high school and we kept it from just about everyone, parents included, except for our closest friends. We did that because we weren’t sure if it was a phase or if we really were gay. It turned out to be a phase for me, her, not so much. And she is now happily married to her partner. But when my mother found out and questioned me about it, I was terrified. My parents are a bit on the older side, so I was harder for them to except my experimentation.
I completely understand why she battled with it. People are mean, its just their nature. If something is out of the norm, its hard for people to accept.
Ingrid, if you are reading this, which if you are, please leave me a comment, I would love to get in touch with you. I am so happy for you, and I don’t want to you to get discouraged. People are in shock and are in a society where homosexuality is new and a growing trend. Just remember that there are people out there that truly support you. I am one of them. Your journey is just beginning, and it will not be an easy one, but just remember that you did not choose this path, it chose you. You are such a positive person and a role model. We are the same age, in two different parts of the country, but I will always be there for you supporting you. Stay positive. You go Girl!
I am sorry that I have not been able to write in two weeks. I have been extremely busy here in the last few weeks. An explanation is in order.
As some of you may know I work for a YMCA and I was chosen to be the Camp Director. The last few weeks have been filled with planning, hiring and training. Monday was our first day on camp.
Things are hit and miss. We got rain and cold weather on day one, which in my book, doesn’t really count. Last year their camp consisted of swimming, free time and more swimming and free time. This year we are changing this up. Most parents have accepted out new way of thinking. The kids weren’t too happy with it at first, but now that they have been exposed to new ideas and games, they are all gung-ho. Most Parents weren’t thrilled about he new paper work, but with merging companies comes new policies and procedures. After we explained the new papers they were a little more understanding about the change.
Friday was great. Parents were calling and telling us just how happy and impressed they were with the first week of camp. Their kids would come home and talk about their days and the things they did and then pass out at bed time. When I heard about that I was elated. My work has paid off. Parent’s are finally happy with the camp program.
My goal this year was to have 50 children signed up. My boss didn’t expect more than 20. After collecting all of the new paperwork from campers that didn’t register in advance, we have 70 campers registered, and no less than 50 each week. I am flabbergasted. Seriously stunned. Its pretty much split down the middle, 50% returning campers and 50% new campers. I couldn’t be happier.
Thursday night I ended up with whatever is going around. Everyone I am surrounded with has it. So, yes I am sick once again.
My goal is to keep up with my uploading schedule as it stands now, but I cannot guarantee content everyday, as I am a very busy woman this summer. I have so much that I want to share with you and I apologize for not getting anything posted for the last two weeks.
I was in the car this morning driving to work listening to Lithium, and it hits me. I really miss having the 90s grunge music around. They were playing some of my favorites this morning. I was so jamming out to it all. Below I have shared some of what I was listening to. I love this station. I know that Sirius XM isn’t cheap, but the music is totally worth it!
Give them a listen. Tell me what your favorite 90s jam is!
My journey is coming along really well. No complaints really. I started weight watchers a little over a week ago and its been pretty easy. I know, I know, its only the first couple of weeks and everyone looses a bunch to start off.
Since starting this I have lost 7 lbs and its only the second week. I am really proud of myself. My father’s dinner’s don’t help, but that’s okay. I started off with 33 points a day and now I am down to 32. Not that big of a deal, but still it can pose a challenge.
I am really excited about all of this. Weight loss in the past has always been an issue. Nothing really worked, not that I was really truly trying to be honest with you. But I never really realized just how much I had gained since starting College. So yeah
I am down almost 7 lbs since starting. I feel good about it. I am already noticing a change in my clothes. I am not as hungry as I thought I would be, considering weight watchers is more about portion control and eating correctly.
My breakfast has been consisted of a smoothie of whatever I can come up with. I really like the Dole Smoothie Shakers, just add a little Tropicana 50 orange juice and shake and you are good to go. They are really great on days that I work early. They taste great too. Then followed by a protein shake and a work out or walk whenever I get home. Lunch is usually a salad of some sort or whatever recipe I can pull of the weight watchers website. Snack is usually some sort of fruit, and dinner is either something I made or something that dad has put together. I don’t usually eat something afterwords but yesterday I picked up a box of those Weight Watchers frozen yogurt bars and omg were they amazing.
My weight seems to fluctuate during the afternoon into evening hours. I have been weighing myself first thing in the morning. Most of my research says that that is the best time to do it anyway. I weigh in every couple of days to see how I am progressing.
So that is my update. Check back every week to see more updates. I really need recommendations for exercises though. I am new to that whole aspect of this, with the exception of swimming. Leave me a comment below!
I recently bought several polishes from ILNP brand. I decided that I wanted to review them for you all. These are mostly from the spring 2015 line.
This is Happily Ever After. Just look at it! It is a lilac holographic with a ton of silver flakies. It is to die for! Every time I take this off I want to put it back on! It is so shiny that it is opaque in two coats. The application is really smooth. The formula is perfect, not to thick and not too thin. I may need to purchase a back up bottle.
Fame is similar to Happily Ever After. It is a light gold holographic polish with a ton of gold and silver flakies in it. Opaque in two coats, this polish is to die for! The application is so smooth that you wouldn’t think it had flakies in it and the formula is that same as Happily Ever After. Beautiful polish. I am in love with this, another one I may have to back up!
Hush (H) effortlessly shifts through spectacularly vivid hues of teal, blue, violet, orange, and red depending on the lighting you’re in. It is opaque in three coats and it just stunning. I typically follow the trend of the seasons but this is beautiful enough for all year wear.
Mega S is the MEGA (S) is the brightest, most intense pure holographic nail polish that I now own. It is so stunning, and in the sunlight, if could stop traffic! It is opaque in two-three coats depending on your application. The formula is spot on. A little on the thin side, but not hard to work with. This came just in time. I was actually going to wear Butter London’s Dodgy Barnett the day this arrived, but my bottle was apparently empty…. such great timing!
Black orchid is probably their most notorious polish out there! Black Orchid is an absolutely gorgeous deep burgundy / purple holographic polish. Opaque in two coats with a perfect formula. This polish is the bee’s knees! It is so rich and vampy. The holo properties are just stunning! You need this in your life! This polish came out in the Fall 2014 collection.
The lovely Champagne Blush is a sophisticated vintage pink holographic polish enveloped by a wonderfully crisp gold hue. It kind of that grandma pink color, but I don’t care, it is beautiful! It is the perfect natural pink color for my skin tone. I daylight the holo in it is spectacular. Opaque in two coats and the formula is perfect. Not to think or thin. I love this polish.
Overall I am extremely happy with these polishes. They are the first of the ILNP Brand that I own. Thank you jessface90 for inspiring this purchase. These are just spectacular polishes. Each one of them is unique. I don’t have anything in my collection like them. I love them. I will continue to purchase from ILNP. These polishes run around the $10.00 mark. Shipping is fast and easy. the packaging is fun and they are well packed! The bottles are simple but sophisticated. You can purchase these and many more from their website ILNP.
Note: These photos were taken from ILNP site, as it seems that every time I go to upload my own photos they seem to disappear.
