I have fourteen days to share with your my beauty favorites. Each day I will share with you a new product that is my ride or die, holy grail beauty products. Below I have added a photo of the items to look forward to. Keep on the lookout for these posts! Let me know what other challenges you would like me to do!
I picked up the Metamorphosis quad a couple of weeks ago and I am madly in love with it. This has seriously become my favorite all time pallet. Dani from Coffee Break with Dani, who is such an inspiration. If you don’t follow Coffee Break with Dani click on the red letters and do so!
She is a mom of two, Hispanic and is completely relatable. I look forward to her videos. A couple of weeks ago she posted that she has another collaboration with Colour Pop Cosmetics. This times its an eyeshadow quad. She goes on to explain…why don’t I just insert the video.
So there you have it. Her photos are way better than mine! So anyway. I love this. She has also come up with many different looks for this pallet. The beautiful thing about this is that you don’t just have to use it with the colors in the quad.
There are two neutral shades in the Pallet. They are as follows.
There are also two transformer shades, which are:
Can you not die? These are amazing. The best part is that you can put these two shades over any color and they are completely different every time. I love them. I will be purchasing a back up of this, I will probably use them that much!
If you have purchased this, let me know what your thought are on them.
When I got home last Monday, I came home to a package in my mailbox. I was a little confused because I didn’t get an email or anything about receiving a ox box, but that’s okay. So I received the I Do Vox Box. In it contained 6 new products to test out and review. I do need to disclose to you that I received these products complementary for testing purposes from Influenster. So in other words, I got these for free as beta tester and I am now reviewing them for you!
Skinny Girl Tasty Nutrition Bars $4.99 Each
This wasn’t so bad, I wasn’t a fan of the flavor and I don’t really know that I would purchase this. There are better protein bars out there. I like some of the other things from this brand, just not this item.
URGENTRx Ache & Pain Relief $1.39
I actually haven’t used this yet. It is in my purse as an in case of emergency situation. I need to look at the ingredients before I decide to actually use it.
Sahale Snacks Grab & Go $27.46 for 18 pouches
These little gems here were a total surprise. I got the flavor Cashews with pomegranate and vanilla, and OMG! I have to admit I was really hesitant to try them but I am so glad I did. I will have to look into the other flavors because they were amazing!
Indeed Labs nanoblur $19.99
This is an interesting product. I am not actually sure what it is supposed to do, I guess its meant to blur fine lines and wrinkles and pores. I don’t really have those issues as of yet, but I am trying it out. I like the consistency of it, it feels really good on the skin, and I don’t break out from it, so that’s a plus.
Cover Girl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation $11.30
This foundation is beautiful. I don’t really go for the luminous formulas, I guess I have always gone for a natural finish in the foundations that I purchase. So this is a first for me and I really like it. I am in the shade 825, and it was really surprising that I actually got a matching shade,, I don’t usually get that in boxes like this. It is medium to full coverage, and is buildable to a point. I really like this one. I don’t really get too shiny, it just gives you a healthy glow. I love it.
Cover Girl Outlast Lipstick 910 $9.80
This isn’t a color that I would normally pick out for myself, but it is really pretty all the same. It has a glossy finish and is really moisturizing. I really have to sheer it out when I wear it, I am a gloss kind of girl, just a wash of color and I am good to go. The color payoff is amazing.
Neutrogena Hand Cream $3.99
Not sure how I feel about this lotion. It has a silicone feel, and I don’t really feel like it moisturizes. I will continue to use it, and report back. Its just a really strange formula. It doesn’t have a scent, which is good, since typically lotions that are scented are sometime over powering.
Hey all I am here with another ILNP Haul. Seriously. I have a problem with these polishes. I am seriously addicted! The people that created these have a direct line to my heart. These polishes are just amazing. I absolutely love them!
I recently picked up four new ones, all from the summer collections. And I am in the process of placing another order.
The first of the latest colors that I have picked up is Closure. This is a beautiful strawberry red holographic polish. The formula is perfect. Smooth and easy to work with. This is a thicker formula than I usually get from their polishes, but it is so easy to work with. Two coats and it is completely opaque. You will need a topcoat, it dries a little dull, but worth it. Amazing and unique color. The only other red holographic I own is more of a dark brick red. This is perfect for the summer!
This next one is Super Juiced. Extremely unique to my collection This is a purple crelly polish with a pink duo-chrome shimmer running through it. Opaque in two to three coats. You will need a top coat as it dries almost matte, like a neon polish. This formula is a tad on the thin side, it wants to run into my cuticles when I have too much on the brush. Beautiful polish. A must have!
Next is Honor Roll. This is a gorgeous inky blue holographic polish. Opaque in two easy coats with a fabulous formula. I have one other polish that is like this and that is from FUN Lacquer. A great polish for that statement nail look in the summer.
Last but not least is Walking Home. If you own Color Club’s Eternal Beauty, you don’t need this one. I do have to say that I like this one more than Color Clubs, the purple is more vibrant in Walking Home. Two coats and its completely opaque. You will need a top coat for this one and Honor Roll as it dries a little dull. The holo in these polishes is just amazing. These photos were taken inside and no flash, this is just the lighting that I have available in my room.
I am as always, extremely impressed with ILNP, I preordered these on June 12 and got them in the mail on the 29th. These have been restocked as of July 3rd, so get them while they are still available. They are incredible reasonable on their prices. And the shipping is really fast. I am in love with this brand of polish. If I had to get rid of all of my polishes and only keep one brand, this would be the one.
If you have purchased any polishes from the ILNP brand let me know which ones you got and what your thoughts are on them.
Sorry I am so late on this. Here lately I get home and all I want to do is sleep, I am so tired all the time. But camp keeps me busy.
Today I have for you the June Ipsy Glam bag. This month is all about summer beauty and swimming! YAY! Below is what I received in my bag.
J.Cat Beauty Lipitude Hydrating Lip Stain – Full Size at $5.99
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer- Sample Size $9.00
Lavanilla Laboratories The healthy body butter in Pure Vanilla- Sample Size
Aurora Intensive Eyeliner Pen in the color Blackberry- Full Size$7.99
tre’STiQue Mini Shadow Crayon in the color Kona Coffee- Full Size $10.66
Overall I was extremely pleased with my bag this month. I am getting a lot of use out of all of these products. I am loving the primer from smashbox, I am obsessed with the eyeliner, and the body butter. I could do without the lip stain, its just not my color, and the shadow crayon is a great base.
So I recently picked up a birchbox box to see what all of the hype is about. Tati, from GlamLifeGuru had this deal with the company that you could get a box for $1. Yep that’s right, $1. So I scooped up the deal right away.
I am kind of up in the air about it to be honest with you. This is what I received in my June Birch box:
Catherine Malandrino Style De Paris parfume
Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow
Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner
Number 4 Super Comb Prep and Protect
Supergoop! Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology
Bonus Item: L Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder
I am sorry that I don’t have any photos for this post, I ran out of time to get them all taken and uploaded.
I really like the BB Cream and the Eyeliner. I love to the Comb prep and protect. And I absolutely love the pony holder.
I will give this another shot to see whether I really want to keep getting this box or not. If I do, I am considering doing an Ipsy VS Birchbox, what are your thoughts, or do you want them to remain separate?
This isn’t what I had planned to share with you but after watching this I fell the need to share this with you.
Ingrid Nilsen is one of the most inspiring people to me. We all know that I am a youtube junkie. I look forward to each and everyone of her videos. She is the most beautiful, inspiring and most well put together person I know. She has been in inspiration for many of the things that I have accomplished in my life this far.
Yesterday she posted this video.
I had no idea what it was about. I saw that she had posted a video and I clicked on it to watch. Before I get into this, I must tell you that most of my friends are gay, in one way or another. No gay happy, but Gay LGBT. Being around people that are gay does not bother me on bit.
I had no idea, until her video. I am so happy for her that she is finally out. I could see the stress she has been under build up over the past several years and when she finally just said it yesterday, I could see the stress falling off. It is never easy to tell people something that intimate about you. I went through something similar. We all go through phases. I dated a girl in high school and we kept it from just about everyone, parents included, except for our closest friends. We did that because we weren’t sure if it was a phase or if we really were gay. It turned out to be a phase for me, her, not so much. And she is now happily married to her partner. But when my mother found out and questioned me about it, I was terrified. My parents are a bit on the older side, so I was harder for them to except my experimentation.
I completely understand why she battled with it. People are mean, its just their nature. If something is out of the norm, its hard for people to accept.
Ingrid, if you are reading this, which if you are, please leave me a comment, I would love to get in touch with you. I am so happy for you, and I don’t want to you to get discouraged. People are in shock and are in a society where homosexuality is new and a growing trend. Just remember that there are people out there that truly support you. I am one of them. Your journey is just beginning, and it will not be an easy one, but just remember that you did not choose this path, it chose you. You are such a positive person and a role model. We are the same age, in two different parts of the country, but I will always be there for you supporting you. Stay positive. You go Girl!
I recently bought several polishes from ILNP brand. I decided that I wanted to review them for you all. These are mostly from the spring 2015 line.
This is Happily Ever After. Just look at it! It is a lilac holographic with a ton of silver flakies. It is to die for! Every time I take this off I want to put it back on! It is so shiny that it is opaque in two coats. The application is really smooth. The formula is perfect, not to thick and not too thin. I may need to purchase a back up bottle.
Fame is similar to Happily Ever After. It is a light gold holographic polish with a ton of gold and silver flakies in it. Opaque in two coats, this polish is to die for! The application is so smooth that you wouldn’t think it had flakies in it and the formula is that same as Happily Ever After. Beautiful polish. I am in love with this, another one I may have to back up!
Hush (H) effortlessly shifts through spectacularly vivid hues of teal, blue, violet, orange, and red depending on the lighting you’re in. It is opaque in three coats and it just stunning. I typically follow the trend of the seasons but this is beautiful enough for all year wear.
Mega S is the MEGA (S) is the brightest, most intense pure holographic nail polish that I now own. It is so stunning, and in the sunlight, if could stop traffic! It is opaque in two-three coats depending on your application. The formula is spot on. A little on the thin side, but not hard to work with. This came just in time. I was actually going to wear Butter London’s Dodgy Barnett the day this arrived, but my bottle was apparently empty…. such great timing!
Black orchid is probably their most notorious polish out there! Black Orchid is an absolutely gorgeous deep burgundy / purple holographic polish. Opaque in two coats with a perfect formula. This polish is the bee’s knees! It is so rich and vampy. The holo properties are just stunning! You need this in your life! This polish came out in the Fall 2014 collection.
The lovely Champagne Blush is a sophisticated vintage pink holographic polish enveloped by a wonderfully crisp gold hue. It kind of that grandma pink color, but I don’t care, it is beautiful! It is the perfect natural pink color for my skin tone. I daylight the holo in it is spectacular. Opaque in two coats and the formula is perfect. Not to think or thin. I love this polish.
Overall I am extremely happy with these polishes. They are the first of the ILNP Brand that I own. Thank you jessface90 for inspiring this purchase. These are just spectacular polishes. Each one of them is unique. I don’t have anything in my collection like them. I love them. I will continue to purchase from ILNP. These polishes run around the $10.00 mark. Shipping is fast and easy. the packaging is fun and they are well packed! The bottles are simple but sophisticated. You can purchase these and many more from their website ILNP.
Note: These photos were taken from ILNP site, as it seems that every time I go to upload my own photos they seem to disappear.
Bea Miller. I find her music very uplifting and inspiring. And since I know we all need a little inspiration, I thought I would share with you some of her music. She is a beautifully talented singer! Give it a listen and let me know what you think! What music inspires you?
So I went to the doctor on Monday. It wasn’t bad news but it wasn’t completely happy news either.
My blood work came back and everything is perfect with the exception of my blood pressure and blood sugar. They weren’t extremely high, but high enough that he is concerned.
We talked about my migraines and the terrible reaction I had from the imitrex. He wasn’t happy when I told him about my reaction. If I didn’t tell you before. The Nurse Practitioner gave me imitrex for my migraines. She told me to take it if I couldn’t get them under control. Well about a week later I took it and omg. I went from having a migraine to a bomb going off in my head. The pain was so intense. I was on the phone with someone when it kicked in and I stopped talking. I couldn’t focus on anything but the pain because it was so sudden and disabling. It was so bad that I couldn’t form a coherent sentence. I hung up the phone and took an hour and a half nap. It helped, but it just wasn’t enough. I ended up going to work with the worst migraine on the face of the planet. I got sent home early. I was crabby and crying it was so intense. I have honestly never experienced anything like that ever. I will never take that medication again.
So the doctor put me on tramadol. Yay! Another medication! He told me it was a pain killer, but non-dependent, non-narcotic and it was low-grade. I haven’t tried it yet because he told me to do it on a weekend first to see how I react to the medication because it can cause drowsiness. So I will report back with that one.
The other thing we talked about was my weight. Now I am by no means a small woman. I am not extremely over weight, but I’m not skinny either. The photo for my profile picture is several years old. So we talked about what needs to change. I have been working on loosing weight, but with my schedule as it is at the moment, its hard to schedule it in. So he suggested a weight loss program. His office offers a program, but financially it was just too far out of reach.
So we talked about some other alternatives. He suggested Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. I know what you are thinking. That’s a lot of work and time that I just don’t have the time to devote to it. I thought the same thing. But then I realized that a program is just what I needed to keep me on track. Doctor wants me to loose 50 pounds in 6 months. Doable right? I think so. That is just u over 8 lbs a month. Not to bad. So I joined. It’s not really in my budget, but I figured if I followed what the program offered and but out most of the fast food, I would be able to afford it. $20 a month isn’t all that bad anyway, considering i spend $10 a month on the ipsy bag.
My first weigh in was this morning. I am down two lbs since starting. I am pretty excited about that!
I really like Weight Watchers. I still get to eat what I want to. I am not really hungry either. I can snack on fruit and veggies all day because they don’t have a point value. Water is always within reach anyway. I have stopped eating out of a bag from a fast food joint. Breakfast now consists of coffee, a smoothie and a protein shake. Lunch? Yesterday my brother and I made blt sandwiches! Seriously! They were really good and filling. I made my dinner right after we finished lunch and took it to work to eat. It was amazing. Penne pasta with spinach and tomatoes. It was really good. Everyone at work wanted some!
Do I have decided to continue on with Fitness Fridays as a weight loss journey, diary and a way to on track. Friday’s are my weigh in days so I thought it appropriate to just update you on it then.
This program is easy to follow. You are given a certain number of points each day and you have to use them all. You are also given a certain number of extra points to splurge. You can eat what you want, as long as it’s in moderation. If you run out of points before the day is up you can trade your activity points for food points, as long as you stay active that is.
The dietary part of this is just one part of my struggle, but its the biggest part of my struggle. Because my schedule is so crazy, I have gotten into the habit of eating on the go, so it was just easier to go to the drive through and eat on the run. I have to stop that. But I also have to find a way to eat healthy while on the go.
So if you have any suggestions for me please feel free to leave them below! Thank you for coming with me on my journey! I need all the support I can get!
